At Easter 2026 we are going on a mission trip to Tanzania! We will go to Arusha, which is located in northern Tanzania, near Kilimanjaro. Here we will visit the Youth on Mission center in Arusha and the New Vision Sports Club (NVSC). We will have two different groups during our time there:

1. Football

If you like football, this is the trip for you – there will be many opportunities to get to know and play with the boys who train with NVSC! There will be daily training and matches, and you will get to join the vision of NSVC, ​​which is to equip these young boys for a life with Jesus and to become boys who take responsibility for their lives. You will lead Bible studies with the boys and invest in their lives.

2. Mercy/practical

If you are not so fond of football, this is also a fantastic trip to join! The other team will go on house visits to local families, do other practical service and really experience the culture of Tanzania. 

Trip content

We will have daily gatherings with everyone on the trip with worship, prayer and input, and will also join some of the YWAM Arusha gatherings.

Included in the price is a day on safari where you will have the opportunity to see amazing wildlife and nature.

We will stay at the Youth in Mission (YWAM) center in Arusha.

Who is this trip for?

Our main target group for this trip is youth and young adults in the age group of 16 to 26 years. If you are outside this age group, it may still be possible to join, but we would like you to contact us at info@ywamskien.com and we can have a chat.

The trip is led by leaders who have extensive experience in leading mission trips internationally.

Travel and dates:

Important regarding travel: Each participant on this trip is responsible for obtaining their own airfare to/from Tanzania.

We have a joint start for the trip on Saturday, March 28 in Arusha, and end together on Sunday, April 5/Monday, April 6.

It is possible to arrive in Arusha on Friday, March 27 or Saturday, March 28, and return on Sunday, April 5 or Monday, April 6. We will arrange transportation from the airport to YWAM Arusha and back to the airport on these dates (you must expect to have to wait a little at the airport).
It may also be possible to arrive on dates other than this, but then you must arrange your own transportation from the airport to YWAM Arusha and back, and arrange your own stay at the YWAM base on dates outside of Saturday, March 28 and Monday, April 6.

Travel:
Book a flight to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). This airport is approximately an hour's drive from YWAM Arusha.

Price for the mission trip:

Participant 13 years and over: 6000 NOK.

Participant 2-12 years: 3000 NOK.

Participant 0-1 year: 200 NOK.

This price includes transport from and to the airport in Arusha, board and lodging in Arusha, local transport and a daytrip on a safari.

When registering today, you must pay 200 NOK per participant which is a non-refundable registration fee, an invoice for the remaining amount will be sent to your email.

Other costs:

Visa: All participants on the trip over 18 years of age must have a "volunteer visa" which you can get at the airport upon arrival. This costs 100 USD which is equivalent to just over 1000 kroner right now.

Vaccines: Some vaccines are recommended for being in Arusha - more information to come.

Insurance: All participants must have valid travel insurance that covers illness, return travel and loss of luggage.
