NTNU Gløshaugen, Gruva
Oppredning, Sem Sælands vei, Trondheim, Norge
About the event
Organizer: NTNU Energy Transition Initiative
We hope you’ll join us again in Gruva for an engaging discussion on the topic: Nuclear Energy’s Role in the Energy System and Ethical Concerns
We’ve invited two speakers this time:
May Thorseth is Professor of Philosophy at NTNU and a member of the government-appointed nuclear power committee (Kjernekraftutvalget) 2024 - 2026.
May’s presentation is titled: Nuclear Power Plants – Some Ethical Concerns
Abstract:
Nuclear energy offers opportunities that come with ethical concerns. One concern is insufficient decision-making basis for politicians and the public. What kind of risks are at stake, what facts and values count, and what risks should be discussed? Input for ethical reflection is presented in this talk.
Carlos Alberto Dorao is Professor at the Department of Energy and Process Engineering, NTNU. He holds an engineering degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Balseiro Institute (Argentina) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from NTNU. Carlos has researched at the Bariloche Atomic Center (Argentina) and SINTEF Materials (Norway) before joining NTNU in 2008.
Carlos’ presentation is titled: TBA
