# Checkin events

> Public pages for events, courses and conferences run on Checkin, a Norwegian registration, ticketing and payment platform. Each page describes one event and holds its registration form.

How the event pages work:

- An event lives at `https://event.checkin.no/{event id}/{slug}`. The slug is optional, and `https://event.checkin.no/{event id}` is the canonical address.
- The HTML carries the event's name, dates, place and description without JavaScript. While tickets are on sale it also lists the ticket types on sale with their prices.
- Every event page carries schema.org `Event` JSON-LD, with `EventCancelled` as its status when the event is cancelled. While tickets are on sale it has one `Offer` per ticket type: price per ticket with VAT included, currency, whether it is sold out, and the sale window.
- There are no Markdown versions of the pages. Read the HTML and its JSON-LD.
- Registration and payment happen in the form on the page, which needs JavaScript and a person to complete it. Discounts and booking fees, where the organiser uses them, are applied there.
- A page is served in the event's own language. Where the organiser has translated the event, the language menu on the page switches it.
- A page marked `noindex` is shared by link only and is not meant for search listings.
