Tuesday 20 February
17:00 – 20:00
Mesh Youngstorget
Møllergata 6, Oslo, Norge
About the event
Organizer: IxDA OSLO
As a designers we shape products, services and systems that impact everyone. Some of those will inevitable end up causing harm.
How can we be more aware of our bias, privilege, and responsibility to the systems we design for?
Join us for two talks exploring how we can approach our design work more responsibly.
Giulia Bazoli & Dr. Pardis Shafafi – Designit
In this talk, Giulia and Pardis will introduce the building blocks that constitute Do No Harm, exploring the landscape of design harm that we all live and work in.
Finally they will introduce the Do No Harm framework, which is a practical tool to support design practitioners in mapping risks in projects and across the design process, with case studies and examples.
Erlend Grimeland & Elias Olderbakk – Travers
Erlend and Elias will introduce their studio Travers, and their work with societal development. They combine human understanding with design and technology to create the services, systems, and environments of tomorrow.
