Beyond the Glucose Value: Earlier Detection of Ketosis and Prevention of DKA
Despite significant advances in diabetes management, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) remains a serious and potentially life-threatening complication. Early identification of ketosis and prompt intervention are critical to preventing progression to DKA, yet glucose values alone do not always provide the complete picture.
We are pleased to invite you to a lunch webinar with dr. Neda Rajamand Ekberg, Associate Professor and Senior Consultant at the Centre for Diabetes in Stockholm.
This session will focus on the importance of DKA prevention and early detection of ketosis, explore common clinical scenarios associated with increased risk, and provide practical insights through patient cases. The webinar will also examine how continuous dual glucose-ketone sensing may support earlier identification of metabolic deterioration and inform clinical decision-making.
Topics include:
- Why DKA remains a significant challenge in contemporary diabetes care
- Recognizing early signs of ketosis and opportunities for prevention
- The limitations of glucose-only monitoring in identifying ketosis risk
- Patient cases illustrating DKA risk and clinical decision-making
- How dual glucose-ketone sensing may support earlier detection of ketosis and DKA risk in people with diabetes
We look forward to welcoming you to this educational session.
