Welcome to the presentation of Offshore Wind Overview Italy - an update of Italian market.
Norwegian Offshore Wind in cooperation with the Norwegian Embassy in Rome and Innovation Norway invites you to the presentation of the report. The Norwegian Embassy in Rome has funded the report “Offshore wind Overview Italy”. The report is an update of a previous report presented in 2023. The report is made by Watson Farley & Williams lawyers’ firm.
Italy is one of the emerging markets in floating offshore wind. Italy is targeting 2.3GW installed capacity by 2030 and 5GW by 2040. Last year the FER II decree (“offtake auction model” was approved with a two-way contract for difference (CfD) system . It is expected the first CfD auction will take place in 2025. More than 4 projects are applicable for the auction. Moreover, the Italian government has proposed supply chain measures for developing an offshore wind industry. With these changes WFW has updated their report from 2022 on authorisation procedures, existing offshore wind portfolio and supply chain in Italy, with a special focus on port facilities.
These are the main topics:
- AUTHORISATION PROCEDURE
- EXISTING OFF-SHORE WIND PORTFOLIO AND SUPPLY CHAIN IN ITALY
- RELEVANT PORT FACILITIES
